Military Family Resource Centre,CFB Gagetown / Oromocto, NB (June, 2009):

I have always had a soft spot in my heart for the military families for the many sacrifices they make, and, while working with those most affected, the children, I felt compelled to do something for them.  Around that time, I had the honor and the immense pleasure to manage the creation of a wonderful work of art created by the children at L’école Arc-en-ciel. While working with them, I have made several new friends and this made me realize that some of them may have to live through some difficult times on account of their parents’ courageous career choices. The thought of the military missions abroad suddenly overwhelmed me with emotions. At that point, I asked myself “What could I do to enhance the lives of these families?” Shortly after that, I contacted Isabelle Leblanc-B., the community development agent at l’école Arc-en-ciel, to share with her my idea; to create a collective work of art which would include the participation of the Gagetown military community. She found the idea terrific and quickly made the contacts and took the necessary steps to ensure that the idea would become reality. It was with great pleasure and honor that I created with you this magnificent work of art. My goal is that it may bring you moments of joy… especially during difficult times.
